At the moment, there is no office of Vietnam consulate in Los Angeles. All those who are in Los Angeles and wish to obtain a visa to Vietnam may choose either of the 02 following options:

Option 1: Applying for Vietnam visa on arrival in Los Angeles

Visa on arrival is very convenient for people living away from Vietnam embassies/consulates. This method is applicable for flights flying in Vietnam and is really a convenient, reliable way to save your valuable time.

How to get Vietnam visa when coming from Los Angeles?

  • Submit the application form online and make a payment for service fee
  • Wait 2 business days (standard service) to get your visa approval letter via email and print out. (URGENT services within 8, 4 or 2 business hours are also available).
  • Upon arrival at Vietnam airport, you need to have your passport, 02 passport photos and stamping fee in cash to get Vietnam visa on your passport.

Note: The above processing time is for a tourist visa. Those wishing to obtain a business visa approval letter may need 5 working days (for normal processing) or 2 or 3 working days (for urgent processing) to get the visa approval letter.

Option 2: Applying for Vietnam visa from nearby Vietnam Embassy/Consulate

As mentioned above, Vietnam does not have a consulate in Los Angeles, so those residing here who want to apply for a visa at the embassy should visit one of the following three addresses:

To apply for a visa at the embassy, you need to 

  • prepare documents, including the necessary documents (contact directly the embassy for more details),
  • then, bring your application to submit and additional information if needed. 
  • be sure to attach a stamped envelope with an address provided. 

After receiving the application, the embassy will process and return the results by post.
